THE sky put on quite a show across the Bradford area last night.

Shortly after 8pm, a number of lightning strikes dazzled the district

One Bradford resident counted three strikes - one of which was powerful enough to shake houses.

"I have never heard thunder like it, our house literally shook," said a resident from Tyersal.

"It was like we were at the centre of the storm.

"It was pitch black until the lightning lit the sky up."

Other residents remarked on how unusual it was to see lightning during the winter months.
