PLAY-OFF favourites MK Dons were given a semi-final shock as Crawley rattled up a resounding 3-0 lead in last night’s semi-final first leg.

Scott Lindsey’s unfancied side, who pipped the Bantams for seventh spot by a point, put one foot in Wembley with an emphatic home victory.

First-half goals from Liam Kelly and Jay Williams put Crawley in command and a deflected strike from Ronan Darcy sealed an impressive night.

Fourth-placed MK Dons, appearing in the play-offs for the sixth time, now have it all to do to turn round the aggregate score in Saturday’s home return.

Crawley boss Lindsey said: “I’m proud of the players. They’ve been class. But we’re at the halfway point and there’s no room for celebration.”

Crawley did the double over City during the season, winning 1-0 in Sussex on the opening day and then coming from behind for a 4-2 victory at Valley Parade in January.

Doncaster lead Crewe 2-0 in the other semi-final. The League Two final takes place a week on Sunday.
